I just had a supernova illumination! GOD ONLY HEALS DUMB PEOPLE! What?! I am sure 90% of you are already on guard at the very thought of that statement. But here’s why it’s true. I have literally seen and been a part of healings with my own eyes and hands! I saw one girl who had a speech impediment, due to a physical deformity with her tongue, be instantly healed when, by faith believing, she was prayed for, and she believed! I saw another young man who was crippled and unable to walk, except with crutches,  toss aside his crutches after a prayer of faith was prayed over him, and he believed! I could go on, recounting physical healings and spiritual healings and more. I have only now realized, like a brain explosion, that there was one thing that each of these healings had in common.

Each and every person healed was dumb. By dumb, I don’t mean deaf! I mean that their IQ was either low…or willingly suspended. In other words, some of those who were healed were simply not very intelligent and some of those who were healed were extremely intelligent but suspended their cognitive prowess. Either way, each was healed in and through a state of dumb ignorance.

Duh!!! As I say that I realize….DUH!!!! Isn’t that what faith is? Faith is the “substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is the ability to see things, not as they appear to the physical eye, but as they can be, and in fact, as they are, through a light-filled spiritual lens, through the eyes of faith (Matthew 6:22).

Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Luke 18:17). We think we know! We really think we have it all figured out. Our lack of humility betrays our ignorance. But if you cling to that ignorance you will drown in it! If you choose the higher way, “the road less traveled” as one poet penned it, then you will know the freedom that the path of faith paves. Through childlike faith, you will KNOW healing…through and through. 

Here is the question for you: what healing have you failed to obtain because you’re too intelligent to receive what God is so lovingly trying to lavish on you?
