30, 60 or 100 Fold

“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop–a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown. He who has ear to hear, let him hear.” If you have been a believer for any amount of time, chances are you have encountered this passage. And chances are you have contemplated how you might go about receiving the hundred fold return and avoid doing whatever the guy does that only gets him the thirty fold return. And chances are, if your like most of us, you have just decided that like many things it all seems to come down to chance. The fact is however, it has less to do with chance and more to do with you than you realize.
How do we obtain the hundred fold return?*
Jesus answers the question for us–“The seed on good soil represents those with a noble and good heart who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”
Once you receive the truth about who God is and who you are, it is not left up to chance how many people you are going to influence with that truth. Nor is it left up to chance how much you will prosper in the spiritual and physical. The level of your tenacity for the things of God will determine the size of your orchard. Only those believers who fully commit their heart and way to God, and daily engage in the faith fight will produce a substantial harvest of hundredfold merit. It is not left up to chance it is left up to you. He who has an ear to hear, “Can you hear me now?”

*This question is for the believer. It is for he or she who already has become a producer of good fruit. Once you have received the seeds of truth and they begin to grow, then questions of producing a more substantial harvest must be considered. And it is they who “must” consider those questions who ultimately yield a higher, hundredfold return.
